Tomberlin Launches the Anvil
The First Wide-Track, Street-Legal Vehicle in the LSV Segment.
February 25, 2009, Augusta, GA: The Tomberlin Automotive Group, Inc., an internationally recognized design and manufacturing firm of innovative market leading vehicles, reports an overwhelming response to the national debut of the electric-powered Anvil (AVL), the most innovative alternative-energy vehicle in the company’s history. Tomberlin’s category-leading AVL is the latest in a series of eco-friendly, zero-emission low speed electric vehicles (LSV) assembled and distributed from their Augusta, GA facility.
“The AVL is a real game changer and reflects our vision for this emerging segment of vehicles,” said Mike Tomberlin, CEO of the Tomberlin Group. “We’ve made eco-friendly transportation not only available, but affordable. Engineered with the widest track in the industry and stylish 16” wheels, the consumers will love the exhilarating acceleration and great handling. Operating costs of pennies per mile make it a superb alternative that fosters a feeling of being a part of the solution to the environmental and economic challenges we face.”
The Tomberlin Group first started designing their LSV’s in 2005 and launched their E-Merge Edition in 2006. These vehicles were built from the ground up to satisfy the demanding market requirements such as 4-Wheel hydraulic braking, double A-Arm Independent front suspension and on-board smart chargers. Consumers have made Tomberlin America’s choice for safe and stylish electric vehicles.
The Tomberlin car reflects a true global effort. It utilizes world class components such as Canadian-based Delta-Q’s on board smart chargers and affordable, easy-care batteries manufactured by US Battery at their facilities in Georgia and California. The vehicle is powered by technology from Advance Motors and Drives out of Syracuse, New York and was designed and engineered in Minnesota. Assembly operations are based in Georgia, California, and Asia.
The Tomberlin Group, a privately held company, passionate about product and active in environmental stewardship, has a national LSV dealer channel that is one of the largest in the American vehicle market. According to Chris Plummer, part of Tomberlin’s senior leadership team, “We have Tomberlin dealers from coast to coast. Customers can find more about Tomberlin and the AVL, E-Merge and Carroll Shelby Editions by visiting www.tomberlin.net . As we breathe new life into the automotive industry we are very pleased at the initial consumer response. ” he states.
An LSV is a low speed vehicle capable of speeds up to 25 mph and can operate legally in most states on roads with speed limits up to 35 mph. Vehicles in this segment have seat belts, lights, automotive windshields and significant other safety features for safe, short commutes. Drivers must be licensed and the Tomberlin AVL is easily insured.
